This list of indoor youth group games is great for when it’s raining, too cold outside, or even when it’s too hot! Instead of scratching your head when the weather throws off your plans, the below list has you covered and has links for each game description. In addition, all of our games are little or no prep and can be played with small groups. We’ve got you covered, especially in a pinch!

Psychiatrist

Synopsis: Who doesn’t love solving a mystery – especially when the probing questions lead to hysterical fun?! Psychiatrist is a quick-to-organize game that will have the whole group laughing within seconds while giving everyone a chance to unwind, get talking, and bond. Psychiatrist is a non-competitive game, which makes it an awesome choice for mixed-aged groups.

Pass The Emotion

Category: Icebreaker, Quick Game, Easy To Play, Silly Games

Participants Needed: 5+

Synopsis: Pass The Emotion is a quick to pull off game that will have your youth laughing at each other’s expressions, and maybe learning a thing or two about one another. Pass The Emotion is a great game for conversation about feelings and emotional responses too, so it could easily be adapted as an ice breaker or woven into a lesson on those topics.

Wink Murder

Category: Low Energy Game, Observation Game, Can Be A Short Or Long Game

Participants Needed: 6+

Synopsis: Nobody’s safe and everyone’s a suspect in Wink Murder, an easy to play game that requires absolutely no preparation or equipment. Each round of Wink Murder is a mystery as the entire group attempts to identify the “Killer,” who dispatches other players with little more than the wink of an eye.

Human Knot

Synopsis: Youth make a human knot and then try to untangle without letting go of hands.

Church Scavenger Hunt

Category: Youth Group Favorite, Fun Game, Team Building Game, Physical Game, Icebreaker

Participants Needed: 3+

Synopsis: Make a list of items found in your church for a scavenger hunt.

Prep: Make a list of items in your church for the kids to find either print or text it to them.


Cook/Bake Off

Category: Youth Group Favorite, Team Building, Creative Game

Participants Needed: 2+

Synopsis: Youth try to make an edible creation from what they find in the church pantry or random food ingredients that you provide them.

Game Instructions: Have a competition for the youth to team up and with ingredients they are provided or found in the church pantry, they must make the best dish.

Equipment: Access and permission to use the kitchen and pantry. If not allowed access to the pantry, go to a dollar store and buy random ingredients.


Man Hunt

Category: Youth Group Favorite, Fun Game, Team Building Game, Physical Game

Participants Needed: 3+

Synopsis: Hide and go seek in reverse, with everyone hiding and there is one seeker.

Choose A Side

Category: Youth Group Favorite, Movement Game, Fun Game

Participants Needed: 8+

Synopsis: Youth must pick a side on a topic like icecream or cake.

Game Instructions: Come up with a long list (at least 15) of “either or’s” i.e. basketball or baseball; pizza or fried chicken; summer or winter, etc. At the beginning of each question, designate which side of the room each topic will represent. For example, If you like pizza go to the right wall and if you choose fried chicken go to the left. For each question designate a wall and the youth will be criss crossing (i.e. burning energy) the duration of the game.

Plus the youth will get to see who has similar interests! Every youth group I have played this with LOVES it. They will want to play and play!

Prep: A list of at least 15+ dividing topics.
